Enhancing the impact of research beyond that achievable by individual projects is our primary aim. Potential beneficiaries include policymakers and practitioners in central and local government, industry, academia and business.

We have coordinated submissions to government consultations as a way to apply findings and insights from ARCC projects to the policy and practice communities.

Response to the NIC discussion paper on environment and climate change

July 2017

The National Infrastructure Commission recently published a discussion paper, The Impact of the Environment and Climate Change on Future Infrastructure Supply and Demand, as part of a series looking at the drivers of future infrastructure supply and demand in the UK. The conclusions will aid the Commission in putting together plausible scenarios out to 2050 for use in the National Infrastructure Assessment.

In its response, the ARCC network seeks to enhance the robustness of the paper in areas such as interdependencies, the implications of international action and the value of adaptive management approaches.
