The ARCC network has kept busy over this summer period, and we are looking forward to showcasing EPSRC-funded research at upcoming events such as the International Refurbishment Symposium and UK Construction Week.
With the establishment of UK Research and Innovation, there will be new opportunities for built environment and infrastructure research as well as a renewed push for impact. In support of this, the ARCC network has continued to build its support for enhancing impact through our early-career researcher workshops. We have two more scheduled for the end of November 2017 that will focus on developing strong pathways to impact as well as the communicating research, so watch this space for more details soon.
And just this month, we reached 1000 twitter followers! If you are not already, you can follow us @ARCC_CN

Property flood resilience: Code of practice survey
Due 21 August 2017
With one of ARCC’s key themes being flood risk in the built environment, we encourage participation in this CIRIA and BRE-led initiative to develop a code of practice and guidance on property flood resilience. If you are a researcher in this area, please contact Tanya Wilkins as we are looking at a synthesis of the latest research that can form an evidence base for such guidance.
Decision support models to improve climate resilience – webinar
This webinar focuses on enhancing the update, utility and value of simulation models and data at the building, suburban and city-scales. This is geared towards researchers with an interest in the built environment who are involved in the development, use or management of projects using built environment models and tools.
UKCIP and climate justice workshop report
The UK Climate Impacts Programme (UKCIP) is ARCC’s parent group, and we partnered with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) and Climate Outreach to pursue the climate justice agenda in light of JRF’s recent closure of its climate programme. A workshop was held with critical discussions around next steps, including a LinkedIn group to support communication and knowledge exchange.
ECCA evaluation survey
Did you join the ARCC network at this year’s European Climate Change Adaptation conference held in Glasgow from 5–9 June? If so, the evaluation survey is now open.
Also, there is an ECCA communications Community of Practice being established that you are welcome to join if you have an interest, particularly learning from failures. Please let Tanya Wilkins know if you would like to join this international online group.
Have you partnered with the ARCC network?
The offer is there to list your research project on our website, which means additional traffic to your work as well as direct promotion to a non-academic audience through the ARCC policy and practice network. Complete the project form to become part of the network.
